Agaton (Megi) moving over Leyte, Philippines - 7pm PHT April 10, 2022

Tropical Storm Megi (Philippine name Agaton) is moving over Leyte at this time, and is situated only 13 kilometers from Sogod. The storm is expected to continue towards the west slowly for the next day, before beginning to turn around back out to sea. So far, the westward motion has been unexpected, but forecast confidence in the storm has always been low and difficult.

The storm is expected to be a major flooding threat in Samar, Leyte, and the wider eastern Visayas region in the next three days before turning out to sea. Megi will then get swept under the influence of the massive tropical storm Malakas, which will remain away from the Philippines.
