Yabusame in Asakusa - Samurai Horseback Archery
Yabusame is a horseback archery ritual done to promote peace and prosperity. The first samurai were mounted archers and yabusame was a way for them to retain their martial skills in times of peace. In mid-April, a yabusame demonstration is held at Sumida Park. It used to be free but you can still see some of it from the back row so to speak.
