Japanese Prehistory Museum - Furusato Bunka Denshokan: Jomon Period Pottery @CriticalEatsJapan

In the Ryuo area of Minami-Alps City in Yamanashi Prefecture is the Furusato Bunka Denshokan Museum which is a small museum containing pottery from the Middle Jomon Period (roughly 5000 years ago). The prize piece is a dogu (clay figurine) known as Ravi, the Fertility Goddess, discovered near the area. Another main piece is a clay pot that may have been drum which has a carving of a dancer on it. A few other pieces of note is a pot with four frog figures and a small unique monkey head.

Thanks to Critical Eats Japan for giving me a ride from Ryuo Station!
