Davinci Resolve | Zoom | Freeze Frame | Change Speed easily from a fellow beginner
Since a few months I'm editing video's with Davinci Resolve. Mostly I edit screen recordings where I need a lot of pausing and zooming to give the viewer a clear understanding of what I'm doing.
For pausing I use freeze frame. In Davinci Resolve you can do this very easily and intuitively with Retime Control. For example in Openshot I needed to export the frame as a picture, split the clip and put it back in between. In Davinci Resolve the clip will stay original and I can do the edits directly on the clip
For zooming I use an Adjustment Clip, it is a very powerfull tool to manipulate only the underlying clips, and only at length of the Adjustment Clip it self. The original clip will stay original and the edits or only applied to the Adjustement Clip. For moving from zoom to zoom view I use keyframes, also a very powertool. While zooming I want always the video to pause, otherwhise the viewer loses track of the mousepointer, I achieve this by using Retime Curve again, freeze frame.
I hope you can learn from my video, it is also a kind of tutorial for beginners.
