1 Hack to (Reliably) Improve Performance
Competition gets a bad rap and many people have a negative association with the word. But when harnessed correctly through the right mindset, competition can be an incredibly powerful tool for self improvement and even enjoyment.
In my personal life, I've used competition time and time again both in sports and in academics. In college as a premed student, I used competition as a fuel to help me achieve more than I thought possible. I was fortunate enough to set the curve multiple times in many of my medical school prerequisite courses. In society at large, we see competition as a large driving force in entertainment. Look at sports for instance. To use competition yourself as a tool, examine your self-talk and perspective about competition. If you lose, don't get down on yourself for being a loser, but rather view it as an opportunity for growth and lessons to be learned.
