President Trump discharged from Walter Reed Medical Centre

Vision has emerged of President Donald Trump leaving Walter Reed Medical Centre only three days after he was received into the facility on Friday.

The president left the hospital in a mask and gave crowds a thumbs up before departing in his motorcade.

Mr Trump will return to the White House to continue his convalescence.

According to US Studies Centre Non-Resident Fellow James Brown, “the president is trying to convey an image of strength, he’s trying to convey an image that he’s in charge”.

The President’s speedy hospital stay “will play well for supporters”.

Mr Brown pointed out Mr Trump was "not conceding anything on the virus really" despite saying "he now has more empathy for what people have been going through."
