Soloing Secrets - Steve Morse

Hey everyone! Here's the next episode of Soloing Secrets with a look at one of my favorite guitarists of all time - the legendary Steve Morse. Steve's an absolute guitar legend and I've featured him and his music numerous times on the LNL channel, including both Steve Morse and Dixie Dregs Chordplay episodes, several Three-For-All lessons, and much more!

This episode takes a deep-dive look at a few signature moves hiding in Steve's extensive and elusive playing style, and targets a number of ideas from two classic Dixie Dregs albums, along with uncovering several areas of Steve's playing with useful workouts/exercises to help you reach some of Steve's epic ideas on the fretboard.

The song-based examples in this lesson came from Dregs classics such as 'Ice Cakes,' 'The Bash,' 'Take It Off The Top,' and 'Country House Shuffle' to name a few, and also target areas of Steve's playing such as his use of hybrid pentatonic scales, targeted chromatic scale runs, expressive string bending phrases, open string ideas, and much more!

Needless to say, if you're a Steve Morse or Dixie Dregs fan, a player searching for some fretboard challenges, or maybe you're curious about what makes Steve Morse so great - this episode is totally for you!
