Russian culture. February, pancakes and bears
Hi guys!!!
The end of the February for Russian means Maslenitsa!
Maslenitsa (Russian: Мaсленица) is an Eastern Slavic folk holiday (old Russian tradition), celebrated during the last week before Great Lent, before Easter.
By the way maslenitsa may be the oldest surviving Slavic holiday.
During these days people celebrate the imminent end of the winter.
The most characteristic food of Maslenitsa is bliny thin pancakes or crepes, made from butter, eggs and milk.
You can eat bliny with any fillings, honey, sour crème, meat, fish, condensed milk, jam.
