Impact Cratering Across the Inner Solar System
Planetary scientist Dr. Virgil L. (“Buck”) Sharpton of the Lunar and Planetary Institute discusses the process of impact cratering and how this process manifests itself on planets and moons of the inner solar system. Sharpton pays particular attention to impact cratering on Venus and the planet’s recent geologic history. This was the second presentation in the Lunar and Planetary Institute’s 2016–2017 Cosmic Exploration Speaker Series, “Mercury to Mars: LPI Explores the Solar System.”
