Planetary scientist Dr. Britney Schmidt of the Georgia Institute of Technology discusses the accuracies and inaccuracies of the science and potential exploration of Europa as portrayed in the 2013 movie “Europa Report.” Schmidt uses specific clips from the movie to illustrate her points. This presentation was part of the Lunar and Planetary Institute’s 2014–2015 Cosmic Exploration Speaker Series — “Science” on the Silver Screen. NOTE: Due to copyright law, the movie clips do not appear in this recording. Instead, they have been replaced with a screen showing the beginning and ending time of each clip that is discussed.
