What You Should Wear To A Waxing Appointment

Not sure what you should wear to a waxing appointment? This seems like something that wouldn’t really matter, but what you wear to get waxed is actually very important.

First, you want to wear fresh clean clothes. Please don’t come straight from the gym, yoga class, etc. The last thing you want is to have to put dirty clothes on AFTER you just got all your hair ripped out and those hair follicles are now exposed. This is a HUGE no no. Always wear fresh, clean clothes to your waxing appointment.

Loose fitting clothes are preferred. This can be something breathable like a dress, skirt, sweat pants, loose fitting jeans, etc. I definitely wouldn’t recommend a romper or jumper outfit because then you’d have to completely undress for your appointment. I’ve had so many clients who didn’t think that choice through and had to get basically completely naked during a brazilian appointment because they showed up in a romper. So avoid those! I also don’t recommend wearing leggings or skinny jeans because they’re so tight on the skin and can potentially cause a rash.

Wearing either cotton underwear or no underwear is best so your skin can breathe after the wax. You want as little friction as possible to ensure your skin doesn’t get irritated. Think about it, your skin is going to be sensitive and your pores open. The last thing you want is to have something rub against your skin, causing it to get irritated or even worse, introduce some kind of bacteria into those freshly waxed pores.

I would stick with these rules for the next 24 hours after your waxing appointment. This will allow your skin and hair follicles to heal and seal properly. 24 hours after your waxing appointment, you can return to your regular wardrobe and wear whatever you want.
