WWE ALTERNATE BOOKINGS: Wrestlemania VII (1991)

As we continue the series in the long anticipation for the 40th anniversary of Wrestlemania, up next is Wrestlemania 7 at the L.A Memorial Sports Arena, which took place on March 24th, 1991. Commentators include Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan, along with interviewers Gene Okerlund and Sean Mooney. This marked the first time Jesse Ventura did not host a Wrestlemania.

Like previous Wrestlemanias, celebrities were brought in in attendance or to be part of the show such as Regis Phlibin, Alex Trebek, Willie Nelson, George Steinbrenner, Paul Maguire, Macaulay Culkin, Donald Trump and Maria Maples, Lou Ferrigno, Chuck Norris, Henry Winkley, and Joe Jusko.

The big sell was the Iraqi sympathiser WWF Champion Sgt. Slaughter defending his title against the All-American Hulk Hogan. Despite having a better card than Wrestlemania 6, the problem is the whole lead up to the main event, which left a bad taste in the mouth of fans due to the Gulf War that was raging earlier that year. We attempt to completely change Wrestlemania VII's card to make it a stronger experience worth packing the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
