Carbide Lamp Restoration - carburo lamp - Back to life - lampada a carburo

This Carbide or acetylene lamp was given to me by a friend a few years ago, unfortunately I don't know where it came from or where it was used. I started this restoration because I always wanted to turn it on, but I was never able to because of a crack and holes in the water tank.

The carbide lamp is composed of two overlapping containers: the lower one contains calcium carbide, the upper one contains water. The water, through a hole, regulated by a screw valve, precipitates in drops on the carbide, triggering the chemical reaction that generates the acetylene, which through a conduit that crosses the water container, is directed towards a burner nozzle in the center of the reflector, placed on the upper part of the lamp, from which it comes out and where it can be set on fire.
