Asana: Fan Pose Tripod Headstand – Prasarita Sirsasana
Brief alignment: Start from fan pose. Bring your crown to the floor as you slide your hands toward your inner thighs to form a triangle with your head. Bring the elbows in and press down through the knuckles. Engage the core, elongate through the sides of the waist. Tip the weight slightly towards the head to free up your legs. Lift your legs sideways into a cone pose headstand, and slowly bring them up to meet over your head.
Benefits: Reverses the flow of gravity, promotes circulation, stimulates all glands, elicits the parasympathetic nervous system response, and calms the mind; opens the hips; boosts all systems and functions.
Contraindications: Neck & hip injury; glaucoma
