Elephant Take Aways: Clever young female, Kumbura steals the Carers’ pellet bucket for herself and conveniently holds the handle over her lower lip while feeding herself with her trunk.

The pellets provide extra nutrition for the rescued elephants as they are high in energy and protein, and therefore great supplements and nourishment for the winter seasons.

Kumbura then decides she’s done with the bucket and discards it as she heads off to join the herd again.

Yes… we think she’s mighty proud of herself. This once-upon-a-time skinny, lonely and traumatised orphan has truly blossomed into a beautiful, loving and courageous young elephant.
