Special Fishan time in the elephants’ wilderness & Khanyisa shows off her trunk skills 💓

In this part of the herd’s day in the wilderness you can get a good glimpse of how they move about and forage from the bushes. Everything is looking very lush now, ensuring lots of feeding for all the wildlife in the reserve!

Fishan is doing well and grazes peacefully among his family. His leg’s stiffness gets better in the warmer season now but we still supplement him on and off with pain killers or anti inflammatory medication that is safe for him to consume, when we notice he is stiffer than usual. He still manages to walk very well and once the herd find good grazing areas, they spend much less time walking and more time feeding on all the bushes.

Khanyisa shows off some impressive trunk skills and spends some time beside her pal, Timisa, while Matriarch Tokwe keeps a quiet discreet eye on everything.

Adine’s daughter, Lente joins in on this walk in the wild and stays close to her mom. Limpopo is calm and content with all the delicious green leaves around her and she munches about from bush to bush. She certainly is resembling her mother, Tokwe more and more, in her appearance and demeanour. Both have beautiful long thin tusks and are confident and bold elephants.

Khanyisa is as independent as ever, with a mind of her own, and heads off on her own path… but never fear, a Matriarch’s eyes are always near!
