One of my favorite Townes tunes. Great storytelling, epic chorus.

The Willie Nelson/Merle Haggard cover version is damn good, too.

For you guitar folks out there, I'm playing a Martin 000-17 in Black Smoke. I'd been trying to track one down for awhile, and on one fine Spring day I walked into Rudy's in New York City and sure enough, they had one. Chit chatted and bought it ten minutes later. Great guitar.
