Wood & Wire - Squier Affinity Telecaster

This is not a particularly good, nor expensive guitar. But I love it.

It's a Squier Affinity Telecaster that I scored from the local music shop I was teaching at right after my first telecaster (a 60s RI) was stolen. I needed a tele in my life and this was hanging on the wall used for fifty bucks.

Later, it rode shotgun in my car with me. When I couldn't sleep at night, I'd sit with it in the backseat and write. I wrote some pretty damn fine songs that way at that time.

As the years went by and the guitarsenal grew, it kind of lost its importance, but never its mojo. Now, it never sounded real good - but that wasn't what it was about with this one. It had soul. So, one day last winter, I found a set of Bill Lawrence USA (originally from my Madcat) pickups in a drawer, along with a wiring harness. I figured what the hell and rewired the guy.

Man. I am impressed. Told you this thing had some soul.
