Davy Jones & Peter Tork "Papa Gene's Blues" live @ Mohegan Sun 3-7-08

We (Davy Jones Band*) played the Mohegan Sun many times. One night Peter jumped onstage with us (I think my Mom was in the front row just to my right). This “Texan samba” was written and sung by Mike Nesmith for the Monkees 1966 debut album. We always had fun playing it, drawing out as many country-cowboy riffs we could. The fidelity of this video is a bit jumpy and rough, but the exuberance of the occasion supersedes technical limitations.
