Johnny J. Blair sings "There Will Never Be Any Peace (Until God Sits at the Conference Table)"

I released this video on Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday, and I send it out with a prayer for healing in our country. It felt like time to go into my old songbooks and make a fresh version of this song, written by Eugene Record of The Chi-Lites. Eugene wrote their evergreen hits “Have You Seen Her?” and “Oh Girl.” His timeless composition “There Will Never Be Any Peace Until God Sits at the Conference Table” (also titled “...Until God is Seated…”) was written during the turbulent Vietnam War era. I was introduced to the song by my friend, British singer-songwriter Steve Lambert (of the band Roman Holliday). Steve insisted I listen to Nick Lowe’s intimate remake of Eugene’s spiritual song, which inspired me to add it to my set. Thanks for listening.
