Mario Bava puts a scalpel to marriage and madness in Hatchet for the Honeymoon, a giallo-slash-psychological horror hybrid dripping with his signature color and style. Stephen Forsyth plays John Harrington, a fashion designer haunted by childhood trauma who murders young brides to piece together his fractured past. When his domineering wife becomes both his obsession and his curse, Harrington spirals into a surreal descent where murder offers no escape. Bava trades pure shock for atmosphere, velvet reds, dreamlike tracking shots, and a killer who narrates his own unraveling.
