Create a Chair Model in FreeCAD BIM | Beginner Tutorial

In this beginner tutorial for FreeCAD BIM, modeling of a simple chair is explained. Even though the model is primarily meant to be used in BIM workbench, it is created in Part workbench and Sketcher workbench is also used.

Viewers will learn how to work with primitives using the Cube tool, move or copy objects. Mirror tools is also demonstrated. Core part of FreeCAD modeling is using the sketcher, which is also demonstrated. Loft tool is also utilized. At the end of the tutorial, the geometry is joined into one object using the Compound tool. The object is than turned into IfcFurniture class using the Arch_Equipment command. This object contains data, so the resulting model is true BIM model with geometry representation and data.

With techniques explained in this video viewers are able to create wide range of AEC equipment, not only chair.
