These were rough times, these were rough people, on all sides, as we shall see. Pardon seldom existed, cruelty almost always. The invasion of the Mapuche Indians territory by Spanish colonists was no exception. In the middle of this, a solitary woman who was to write history: Dona Inès de Suarez.
