Yellow dogs that guided the dead
Yellow dogs were the guide dogs of the dead in ancient Mexico. Many dogs were bred there during the centuries that preceded the Spanish conquest, dogs of all colours, for religious purposes, but also for more practical ones as we shall see. Franciscan friar Bernardino de Sahagún studied all of that in the XVIth century.
