Gardasil HPV Vaccine Lawsuit (May 2023 Update in Comments)

Gardasil® is a vaccine developed by Merck & Co. to prevent HPV (human papillomavirus). Merck obtained approval for Gardasil in 2006 with deceptive research trials, which overstated the benefits and vastly understated the risks and side effects of the vaccine. Merck aggressively marketed Gardasil utilizing scare tactics, false advertising, and political lobbyists to induce millions of parents to vaccinate their adolescent girls with Gardasil.

The Gardasil lawsuits refer to a series of legal cases filed against Merck & Co., Inc., the pharmaceutical company that manufactures the Gardasil vaccine. Gardasil is a vaccine designed to protect against the human papillomavirus (HPV), which can cause genital warts, cervical cancer, and other health problems. The vaccine has been widely administered to adolescents and young adults as a preventive measure against these conditions.

However, some individuals have filed lawsuits against Merck, claiming that they experienced severe side effects and health complications after receiving the Gardasil vaccine. These alleged side effects include Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), Primary Ovarian Failure (POF)/Primary Ovarian Insufficiency (POI), and various autoimmune disorders. The plaintiffs argue that the vaccine caused these adverse reactions and that Merck failed to adequately warn patients and healthcare providers about the potential risks.

Several lawsuits have been filed in different jurisdictions, and many have been consolidated into multi-district litigation class action(MDL) in North Carolina to streamline the legal process and facilitate the handling of numerous similar cases. In these lawsuits, the plaintiffs seek compensation for medical expenses, pain and suffering, and other damages related to the alleged injuries caused by the Gardasil vaccine.

Now thousands of girls who received the Gardasil vaccine are experiencing severe adverse health consequences, and hundreds have died due to vaccine complications. There is currently an MDL class action lawsuit pending.

The FDA and the CDC oversee the Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS), which addresses issues related to vaccines. Since January 2020, there have been over 64,000 reported adverse reactions to the HPV vaccine worldwide, with 50,000 cases occurring in the United States. Approximately 15% of these cases were severe, involving paralysis and death. These figures are likely underestimated, as many cases go unreported to VAERS. Of the 547 reported deaths, around 73% were linked directly to Merck and their Gardasil vaccine. This substantial evidence indicates that Merck's HPV vaccine did not provide safe and effective results, possibly due to lenient approval standards.

Our firm is currently seeking new Gardasil cases. If you received the Gardasil vaccine for HPV and subsequently experienced side effects, complications, or other adverse health events that may be connected to the vaccine, call us today for a free consultation.
