NT Chief Minister Eva Lawler confident crime issues in Alice Springs are under control

New Northern Territory Chief Minister Eva Lawler says she is confident crime issues that plagued Alice Springs last January are under control.

“No government wants to see crime … we want all Territorians to be safe,” she said.

“I can’t understand the frustration around crime – I see and hear all of those reports around crime.”

Ms Lawler has been in the top job for less than two weeks following the shock resignation of former chief minister Natasha Fyles.

The Northern Territory is less than eight months away from a state election, with crime set to be a major issue.
