Panda Express Style Orange Chicken
CHILI GARLIC SAUCE: https://amzn.to/3N7upvx
You will need fresh squeezed orange juice (approximately 2 big oranges divided 1/2 cup and 3 tbsp)
Chicken:
1 lb cubed chicken thighs or breast
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp minced garlic
1 tsp salt
3 tbsp Orange juice
CHICKEN COATING SLURRY:
1/2 cup cornstarch
1/4 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup water
oil for frying
Orange sauce:
2 tbsp soy sauce
1/2 cup orange juice
1 tbsp honey
1/4 cup brown sugar
4 tbsp vinegar
1/2 tsp chili garlic sauce
1/2 tsp ground ginger powder
SMALL SLURRY
1 1/2 tbsp corn starch
2 tbsp water
Season the chicken with black pepper, garlic, salt and 3 tbsp OJ. mix and marinate for 30 min.
In a separate bowl, make CHICKEN COATING SLURRY. Then add chicken to coating. Fry all of the chicken pieces 2 to 5 minutes per batch.
Make SMALL SLURRY and set it to the side.
Make the orange sauce: in a hot skillet combine, soy sauce, orange juice, honey, brown sugar, vinegar, chili garlic sauce and ginger. Bring to a boil and add SMALL SLURRY. When it is thick, add the chicken pieces until well coated. Enjoy!
