Max Greger and His Orchestra - Shirley

" There once was a brainy baboon who always breathed down a bassoon for he said, It appears that in billions of years I shall certainly hit on a tune. "
----- Ezra Pound

Max Greger and His Orchestra bring us some "musical sunshine" - we sure can use any kind of sunshine nowadays with winter making it's "slow but sure" entry.
Max Greger worked for the German TV station ZDF for many years as a big band leader and conductor- at times he also played the saxophone himself.
He was the first European bandleader who was allowed to do a tour in the Soviet Union in 1959. Greger appeared in many ZDF shows between 1963 and 1977 and recorded numerous records with his Orchestra - most of them containing material for dance clubs and ballroom dancers.
Max Greger celebrated his 80th birthday in 2006. All in all, he has recorded more than 3,000 titles with his Orchestra (over a period of about 20 years).
From the Album "Tanzen, Tanzen, Tanzen" (1983) here's one of those titles : "Shirley".
Happy Listening !
