CCPS CTAE Students Create Augmented Reality School Bus Inspection App
Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) is excited to announce the creation of its brand new Augmented Reality School Bus Inspection APP.
In keeping with the district's Commitment to High Performance, CCPS is pleased to share with you a video released on July 11th, 2017 during day three of the Georgia Association of Career and Technical Educators (GACTE) Conference which featured the creation of the CCPS Augmented Reality School Bus Inspection APP. Created by Career, Technology, Agriculture Education (CTAE) students of the North Clayton High School (NCHS) Programming Pathway, the app uses an augmented reality to assist in the inspection and maintenance of school buses used within the school district.
“We understand that in order to prepare students to compete successfully at every level, it starts with experts who are committed to success and are also willing to assist the next generation achieve their fullest potential,” stated Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Morcease J. Beasley. “I commend our CTAE Coordinator, Dr. Eboni Chillis, who also serves as the President-Elect for the Council for Career and Technical Administrators (GCCTA) for the state of Georgia, CCPS’s Director of Transportation, Harold Walker, NCHS’s Programming Pathway Instructor Henry Laws, our valued CTAE STEM+ Partner Captain Barrington Irving as well as Alex Baumeige of Spinteractive for their expertise and sponsorship of our students in assisting with the creation of this outstanding APP. Most importantly, I would also like to congratulate the devoted students of North Clayton’s Programing Pathway for demonstrating their commitment to high performance and dedication throughout the process,” he added.
As CCPS continues to move forward in its commitment to being a high performing school district, stakeholders should expect an increase in the number of collaborations with our students not only leading the way in STEM but also in all areas of education.
