MJ Walker McDonalds All American

James Michael “M.J.” Walker, Jr., a senior student at Jonesboro High School was recognized in a ceremony to acknowledge his selection as a 2017 McDonald’s Basketball All-American. Walker is the first ever CCPS student-athlete to receive this honor.
Out of 750 high school student-athletes around the country, Walker was 1 of 24 players selected to participate in the 40th Annual McDonalds All-American Game on March 29, 2017, at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.
During his career at Jonesboro High School, Walker has scored over 2,400 points and recently broke the Clayton County Public Schools record for most points ever scored by a basketball player – previously held by Jonesboro High School graduate and NBA Player, Toney Douglas.
During his career, Walker has led Jonesboro High School to win 2 state championships and 1 state runner up, all while maintaining a stellar 3.87 GPA. He also holds a gold medal as a member of the 2016 USA Men’s U18 National Championship team that won the 2016 FIBA Americas U18 Championship held last summer in Valdivia, Chile.
Please join us in congratulating M.J. on this outstanding achievement!
