If you've ever been told that you're 'false advertising', or are 'ugly' without makeup, or that you're a BIMBO because you dare to wear MAKEUP...!? This video is for you.
I love makeup. I love the way it can make people feel, I love how creative it is, and I LOVE that it gives us some control over how we look! Heck, i've been a professional working makeup artist for close to 7 years because i love makeup so much! But what I DON'T love - is being told that someone 'can't take me seriously' because i'm wearing makeup. Or that what I say doesn't matter because I like to wear lipstick. Or that i'm insecure, unattractive and HIDING myself underneath makeup. Or that I must be unintelligent because I bleach my hair or wear mascara.

I am not a fan of the unrealistic beauty standards that women are subjected to these days. In fact I hate them. However that doesn't mean that in order to distance herself from the beauty standards and take control of her own individual beauty a woman must move away from society, go and live in a cave, never shave her legs or wear makeup again. The point here is consent and choice. If a women wears makeup, dyes her hair, shaves her legs or gets fillers or botox because she WANTS to, and SHE likes the way it looks - then good on her. It's her face and her body and she should be the one to decide what goes on it and in it. If a woman is doing these things because she feels like she HAS to, to fit inside the box that society has created of the ideal woman - there may be a problem there. If makeup, fillers, botox, fake tan, veneers, tattoos, hair dye, whatever it is - makes YOU feel good and gives you confidence and makes you happy - then don't let anyone make you feel lesser than for doing it. You can still be a self-confident, self-assured, intelligent and self-respecting woman if you enjoy beauty.
