How To Make Teriyaki Mushrooms & Noodles with Sesame - Recipe

A quick stir fry and this delicious pasta dish, with Japanese flavours, is ready to be served. You can whip up this teriyaki mushroom and noodle dish in about 20 minutes, sprinkle it with sesame seeds, and serve.

INGREDIENTS

2 tbsp sesame oil (or olive oil)
12 shiitake mushrooms, sliced 1/8” (2-3mm)
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup water
2 tbsp honey
1 tbsp molasses
8 oz (230g) noodles, cooked al dente
1/4 c sake
1 tbsp cornstarch
1-2 tbsp sesame seeds

DIRECTIONS

1. Heat the oil in a large pot or deep fry pan on medium heat. Add the mushrooms and cook, stirring frequently, for 5-6 minutes.
2. Add the soy sauce and water. Deglaze the pot. Add the honey and molasses. Simmer for 5-6 minutes.
3. Add the noodles and stir, while cooking, until well coated in teriyaki sauce and combined with the mushrooms.
4. Dissolve the cornstarch in the sake. Add to the pot. Stir on heat until the sauce thickens slightly.
5. Remove from heat. Sprinkle sesame seeds over dish and toss to distribute.
