Surviving For Days Out At Sea | WW2: I Was There

Austin Byrne was conscripted into the navy at 18 to man the rear gun on a ship in the North Sea. Two weeks into the voyage, the ship was hit by torpedo and it went down, taking more than 50 crew members with it. Austin recalls how they did all they could to survive over the next few days in freezing temperatures without food or water until he was finally rescued.
