How to Change App Icon Size On iPhone (Easy Tutorial)

You can adjust the size of all app icons on your iPhone through built-in Home Screen customization, making them larger for easier tapping or smaller to fit more apps—no extra apps needed.

Step 1 — Enter Home Screen Edit Mode
Go to your iPhone Home Screen.
Touch and hold an empty area on the screen until the icons start wiggling. This indicates you've entered edit mode.
Tap Edit at the top left corner, then select Customize

Step 2 — Change Icon Size
In the Customize menu, look for the icon size option (usually represented with two app squares of different sizes).

Tap the Large icon size button to make icons bigger. Note that in this mode, app labels disappear, giving a cleaner layout and easier target for tapping.
To revert to smaller icons with labels, tap the same button again to select the default size

Step 3 — Adjust Display Zoom (Optional)
For additional size adjustment affecting controls along with icons:
Open Settings Display & Brightness.

Scroll to Display Zoom and select Larger Text to increase icon and interface size, or keep Default to fit more content

Tap Done to apply changes.

Step 4 — Apply Appearance (Optional Enhancements)
Inside the Customize menu, you can also adjust icon appearance: choose Light, Dark, Clear (translucent), or Tinted (color overlays).
Tinted options offer sliders and an eyedropper tool to match icons to your wallpaper

The Auto mode switches icons between light and dark based on system appearance without manual changes

Step 5 — Save Your Changes
Tap anywhere outside the Customize panel to finalize your selection. Your icons will update instantly across the current Home Screen
