In the 1970s, beavers were unfortunately so rare in Europe that they could hardly be observed and filmed. In 1977, the two wildlife filmmakers Ernst Arendt and Hans Schweiger shipped their truck to Canada and lived with the beavers for 7 months in the Rocky Mountains.
In the open air, the two gain very special insights into the private lives of the beavers such as the cute beaver kits in their sheltered beaver lodge.
