Cranes, it is said in Bhutan, prefer sacred places. The Phobjikha Valley, deep inside Bhutan, is such a sacred place. From mid-October, all the inhabitants here wait for the arrival of the migratory birds. The animals fly from Tibet to the protected valley to spend the winter.
