The Hyderabad Food Adulteration Surveillance Team (H-FAST) has been launched by Hyderabad Police to tackle the rising menace of food adulteration and the manufacture of spurious food products in the city. This dedicated task force aims to conduct surprise raids and strengthen enforcement against unsafe food practices across eateries, restaurants, and manufacturing units.
The initiative comes after multiple raids exposed large-scale use of harmful substances like synthetic colours and chemicals in food items, along with the circulation of fake dairy products and unhygienic food production. H-FAST represents a zero-tolerance approach towards food adulteration, aiming to safeguard public health and ensure accountability in the food supply chain.
