Joe Biden faces ‘real risk’ of losing Arab American vote

Seattle University Associate Professor of American Politics Dr Patrick Schoettmer says Joe Biden’s early enthusiasm for Israel could cause Arab Americans to “decline to vote” for him.

Both Donald Trump and Joe Biden handily won in the Michigan primaries, solidifying a likely rematch in November.

The US president has faced criticism from the Arab American community for “foot-dragging” on pushing for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.

Dr Schoettmer says losing the Arab American vote is a “real risk” for Joe Biden.

“Particularly, Arab American Christians who were traditionally a Republican-voting group before 2000.”
