Two Young Men in Gettysburg - 1863: Daniel A. Skelly and Albertus McCreary

Join Licensed Town Guide Ted Hirt to hear the accounts of two teenagers from Gettysburg who witnessed the famous battle. Daniel Skelly and Albertus McCreary watched the troops advancing into town, heard the sounds of battle, and walked through the devastation on the farmland after the battle. As adults, each would write his memoirs, recounting those experiences. They also attended the speeches on November 19, 1863, and they shared their impressions of President Abraham Lincoln and keynote speaker Edward Everett.
