The Bee Gees, short for the Brothers Gibb, were a legendary British-Australian pop and disco group known for their distinctive three-part harmonies and timeless hits. The group was formed by three brothers: Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb. Born in the Isle of Man and raised in Redcliffe, Queensland, Australia, the trio's musical journey began in the late 1950s. They started as a skiffle and rock 'n' roll act, but it wasn't until the 1960s that they gained international recognition for their songwriting and vocal talents.
The Bee Gees' career spanned several decades and included multiple musical phases. They achieved great success with their pop and rock hits in the 1960s, such as "To Love Somebody" and "Massachusetts." However, their most iconic period came in the late 1970s when they became pioneers of the disco movement with the soundtrack for the film "Saturday Night Fever." This album, featuring songs like "Stayin' Alive" and "How Deep Is Your Love," catapulted the Bee Gees to unparalleled fame. Their influence on the music industry and their enduring legacy as one of the most successful and beloved groups in pop history make the Bee Gees an integral part of music history.
The Church Studio is a historic studio that was built in 1915 as Grace M.E. Church. It came to life in 1972 when Leon Russell, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and Grammy Award-winning artist, purchased the old church and turned it into an analog recording studio and home office to Shelter Records. Teresa Knox, a Leon Russell fan and Tulsa native, purchased The Church Studio and has brought it back to life as a professional analog and digital recording studio, event center, audio engineering school, entertainment network, and home to The Church Studio Archive.
