In 1981, David Teegarden earned a Grammy for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal, notably for his contribution to "Against the Wind" with Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band.

David Teegarden's musical legacy encompasses his involvement with Teegarden and Van Winkle, Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band, and Eric Clapton. Notably, he contributed to Bob Seger's "Smokin' O.P.'s" album as a member of Teegarden & Van Winkle, alongside guitarist Michael Bruce. He also played a key role in albums like "Nine Tonight," "Stranger in Town," "Against The Wind," and "Fire Down Below" as a member of the Silver Bullet Band.
