The Jazz Crusaders - Sting Ray
Here's a video from one of my favorite bands. This was back when they were still called the Jazz Crusaders. This tune is called: "Sting Ray," and it was written by their trombonist Wayne Henderson. It comes from an album called "Powerhouse" which was released in about December, 1968. They had been making a subtle transition from traditional Jazz-Bop to Jazz-R&B at the time of this album. I made this video a long time ago and it's high time I posted it. The audio comes from my personal copy of Powerhouse.
The Jazz Crusaders' lineup on this album was: Joe Sample (piano), Wilton Felder (tenor sax), Wayne Henderson (trombone), Nesbert "Stix" Hooper (drums), and Charles "Buster" Williams (bass).
No copyright infringement intended. Happy Watching :)
