Nation Lifestyle: A Mother's Pain

Every Mother’s Day since 1999, Janice Nicholls relives the moment she received the call that her 20-year-old son Andrew had drowned at the Hot Pot.
Nicholls, 64, said she still has difficulty sleeping as a result of the tragedy and has not visited the popular bathing spot at Brighton, St Michael, since that fateful May 9. She added her voice to calls for it to be closed off, labelling it as dangerous.
This Mother’s Day, also May 9, Nicholls was filled with sadness when she learnt that Javonne Moise, 21, of Dash Valley, St George, lost his life while swimming near the Hot Pot. (Video by Shanice King) #YourNewsYourTimeYourWay #NationBarbados #TheSourceMatters #Barbados #HotPot #Drowning
