Inside the Pyramids | Visiting Giza and the Sphinx, Cairo - Egypt

Flying from Venice to Rome, and then to Cairo, we arrive in sunny, dusty, bustling Egypt for the start of our 8 day adventure with On The Go Tours (www.onthegotours.com).

Visiting the 4700 year old Step Pyramid at Saqqara, Egypt's first pyramid and one of the oldest stone buildings in the world, we also get to climb inside the Pyramid of Unus (or what's left of it).

We make our way to the jewels in Egypt's crown...the Sphinx and the Pyramids of Giza. There are 6 pyramids at the Giza complex - the Great Pyramid of Giza (or the Pyramid of Khufu), the Pyramid of Khafre, the Pyramid of Menkaure, and the 3 Queen's Pyramids. We even get to explore the tunnels inside the Pyramid of Khafre!

And then we head to the train station to board our overnight train to Aswan in southern Egypt.
