Sea Level Rise Seminar, 2020-05-25: Roderik van de Wal

Sea Level Rise Seminar, 2020-05-25
Speaker: Roderik van de Wal
Topic: A high-end estimate of sea-level rise for stakeholder application

Overview: Sea-level rise is one of the long-lasting consequences of climate change because human interference in the system leads to a progressive warming and expansion of ocean water, melting of glaciers and ice sheets and changes in landwater storage. Future projections of sea-level rise support planning of adaptation, but they are uncertain. The central part of the range of uncertainty can be defined by process-based models, but users often require information in the tails of the uncertainty distribution which are poorly defined. In this presentation I will address a community effort attempting to tackle this problem.
