We have re-cast the phenolic points pedestal and points cover in far superior urethane. However, these are so clean, we are using the originals with only minor cosmetic repairs. The major problem was a very specific NLA flat spring that was in place, but made of a fatigue prone material that failed after a period of time. We hand made a new spring from a .008" Feeler gauge blade of a superior spring alloy. Testing over 1/2 hour proved its function.
