As a kid growing up in Brooklyn, Tyson raised birds to escape bullying and poverty. He once spent all his money on them—by age 11, he had over 100 pigeons.

Then one day, a boy ripped the head off one of Mike’s pigeons in front of him.

That was Tyson’s first fight.

It wasn’t in a ring.
It was fueled by grief.

Years later, he starred in Taking On Tyson—a TV series about his deep love for pigeon racing.

He still says today:
“Pigeons were my escape. My first love.”
