When Americans Save The Day! Hard Metal Detecting Work Pays Off!

Metal detecting in the woods with XP Deus, American finds and more. Sometimes a certain group of people from the past can decide about the outcome of a relic hunt. In my previous living area it was sometimes the Romans, this time American soldiers saved the day.
The Buffalo Nickel came as a huge surprise. There was another nice coin, a Jefferson Nickel from 1940.

I also found a (Roman? Medieval?) linchpin and something silver plated made of pewter that could have been used to put out candles (that's just a guess).

The (unexpected) oil lamp could be from 1800's. The "Klöpfel & Sohn" company was founded 1867. Check out the following link for pictures of similar lamps: https://sirkosdrive.jimdofree.com/laternen/kl%C3%B6pfel-sohn/
(website in German)

It was a physically demanding adventure. I had to get on top of this hill (on a hot Summer day) first. The deep "treasure" object drained a huge amount of my energy right at the very beginning. It took some motivation to investigate and dig the later stuff, especially towards the end. But... I was very happy with the overall result. Coins, relics, nice weather, what more do you need? :)

I hope you enjoyed it.
Thanks for watching.
