Climbing Mulhacén on a perfectly sunny day

I was disappointed that I didn't get any views from the summit when I recently climbed Mulhacén, Spain's highest mountain with an elevation of 3479m, except for a horror movie moonscape. So I climbed it again before I left Pitres – on a perfectly sunny day.

When climbing Mulhacén from Pitres, it's a long, arduous walk. But the path is not very dramatic or exciting, and the mountain itself just looks like an enormous hill; except for one side which is a steep cliff.

The most adventurous and fun path, without risking your life, is probably to walk from Capileira via La Cebadilla, and continue straight through the entire ravine and up the side of Mulhacén (there's a steep path).
