What does it mean to be Arraigned in Court?
Arraignment is the formal entry of a Not Guilty Plea before the Court. It is usually your first time to go before a Judge. It is very important because that Judge will determine your Bail or Bond, so you want to dress respectfully (if you have the chance) to give him/her a good first impression. A waiver of a public reading of the charges happens first and then a Not Guilty plea is entered and then Bail or Bond is decided by the Judge and a date is set for your next Court date at which time you must return to Court.
